The best ways to fix damaged hair

Its been a while since I had a good hair day. When I clicked my hair images for quick and easy braid hairstyles for open hair few days back, I realized my hair is damaged, and now it’s high time to focus on the health of my hair. I have listed all the factors which caused damage to my hair and how I recovered from it.

My signs of damage:

1. Visible Split-ends

I feel it is okay to have a few split-ends on your hair that are not easily noticeable, but what triggered me was I noticed my split ends in almost every image taken. These made my hair look dry and like dry grass.

2. Frizzy hair

I could see small hair strands always standing out like the roots of a plant. Irrespective of my regular combing and pulling them down, these strands did not align and stood up again.

3. Increased Hairloss

I had hair loss limited to only when I combed or washed my hair. But I could see my hair almost everywhere around my floor, my shirts and pillow. The rapid hair loss indicated to me that my hair loss has increased. If I don’t take care of now, I will soon end up being bald.

How I fixed my damaged hair?

1. Trim the split-ends

  • Divide your hair into smaller sections
  • Take a section of hair and twist it
  • Twist tightly till the split-ends are popped out
  • Now trim off the split ends
  • Do the process twice( this would help in trimming the hidden splits)

[EC suggestion: Be careful while you cut the splits as a large amount of trimming may lead to variation in hair-lengths]

2. Trim the ends of your hair

  • Wash hair and let it dry 70-80%
  • Comb your hair and remove the tangles
  • Divide the hair into sections
  • Take each section(holding through your Index and middle finger) and trim the ends
  • Repeat this process once in every six-eight weeks

[EC suggestion: Trim only about 0.3 – 0.5 inch of hair, If you don’t want to reduce the hair-length]

3. Hair Oiling

  • Take a bowl and add a tablespoon of olive and coconut Oil
  • Head the oils ( till it reaches a medium-heat)
  • Apply the heated mixture on your scalp, using your fingertips
  • Avoid pouring too much of Oil
  • Massage the scalp for about 10-15 minutes
  • Massaging on the scalp helps in improving blood circulations and reduce frequent headaches and hair fall

[EC suggestion: Can use a single oil instead]

4. Hair Shampoo

  • Use protein-rich shampoos, Avoid shampoos with sulfates and chlorides.
  • Wash the hair by massaging the shampoo on the scalp of the hair
  • Avoid applying too much shampoo
  • Wash your hair at least twice a week
  • Avoid washing with hot water

  • Put the bananas into a blender
  • Add milk to it and start blending
  • Blend the mixture to a smooth mask consistency
  • Apply the smooth paste to your hair from roots to tips.
  • Leave it for 20 minutes and wash away your hair
