Oats Dosa/Idly/Chilla

Oats Rava Dosa Recipe
Oats Rava Dosa

Whenever I have cravings to eat dosa or, but then the pain of fermenting and mixing all the different kinds of lentils kills it all. All these worries will not be a part of your cooking while trying this crispy Oats Dosa or delicious Oats Idly.

What do you need?

1 Cup oats (rolled)

½ Rice Flour or Semolina

1 Tablespoon Grated Carrot (Optional)

2 Tablespoon Onions (Finely Chopped)

2 Green Chilis Chopped

¼ Cup Yogurt

½ Teaspoon Cumin

How to do?

Blend oats and semolina into a fine powder. I prefer blending it separately, as I feel it won’t get blend properly when mixed.

In a bowl, pour the oats powder, semolina, or Rice Flour Powder and add yogurt.

Now add Onions, Green Chilis, Cumin, and mix well by adding ¼ to 2 Cups of water.

Heat and Grease the pan with few drops of oil. Now pour the batter, flip the other side after the dosa gets golden brown.

For Chilla and Idli:

You can reduce the amount of water to 1 cup and mix the batter in a thick consistency to serve the same batter as Oats Chilla (Sort of Indian Pancakes). The process of cooking is the same. Just pour cook, flip, and cook.

You can again use the same batter with a thick consistency and pour in the Idly steamer and steam for 5-7 minutes. ( Cook till the Idly are not sticky). Hehe, I don’t know if it is I-D-L-Y or I-D-I-L-I, whatever it is the recipe is same.

If you have ever heard of paniyaram/ Appe, can repeat the same process and cook as Appe.

So, this was the versatile recipe I was praising above.

Isn’t this one of the easiest yet incredible in taste?
