Pretty places to visit in delhi

City Guide: Delhi!

Hope you all are having a happy weekend, I sure am enjoying my cozy weekend wrapped up in blankets. Bengaluru and its rain tales are never ending recently. Delhi sure has a platter of places to offer us, but there are a few places that I never miss to visit when I am in Delhi.

Bangla Sahib Sarovar Gurudwara

So, today I am going to share with you a few must visit places in Delhi. This city has a blend of ancient and modern attractions.

First I would start with the spiritually significant – Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

It is a pleasure to witness the beautiful sikh architecture. It has a holy pond known as sarovar inside. And, evenings are the best time to visit. But, while going be aware of your clothing attire. A Big no for sleeveless, shorts, torn jeans and all. And, it’s applicable to men too.

You can be at Bangla Sahib for as long as you want. It’s open 24 hours and for the needy, it provides shelter too. I love the Prasad of this gurudwara. And, its langar is pretty famous around Delhi.

Janpath Nagar Market

Next you can visit Janpath Nagar Market, it’s pretty close to Bangla Sahib. This market is not as huge as Sarojini Market. But, this is the best place to get oxidized jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, and many.

There are options for clothes, footwear, sun glasses, home décor, and antiques. You can get a lot of souvenirs to take back with you.

Sarojini Nagar Market

It’s time for my forever favorite shopping market. It’s something I miss the most about Delhi. Bengaluru has very few options to shop from. The biggest asset you need while drooling through Delhi markets is the power of Bargaining.

I was looted many times due to my lack of bargaining skills back then. But, now I can beat up all the vendors in the game of Bargaining. You can get a very wide range of almost everything in Sarojini Nagar Market. And, You can get clothes and accessorizes for men too.

If you visit Sarojini Market, do eat the tasty momos place which is in the entrance of the market. And, also ram k ladoo.

Museum of Illusions

As mentioned in my last blog post, Museum of illusions is the first and only place for illusions in India. For more details check my post on this.

Akshardham

Honestly, I still haven’t visited this gigantic place. But, I have heard a lot about this place. It is very huge and a peaceful temple. It’s known for its architecture and in the evening you can see fountain shows and a lot.

Chandini Chowk

How can you be in Delhi and not go to Chandni Chowk. It is the ‘Purani (old) Dili side of Delhi’. It is a place for wedding clothes. You can get a wide range of wedding lehengas and sarees here. And, the famous paranthewale Gali is a must place to try parathas from.

Red fort is walkable distance from here. And, also in Kashmiri gate there is a place called Monastery Market. This market is for men’ s shopping.

Champagali

If you are looking for a dreamy place filled with cute and artistic cafes, Champagali is your place. It is filled with a lot of pretty cafes and the best time to visit is in the evening. It is located in Saket and near to Select city walk mall. This place has a different vibe with live music, pretty surroundings, and yum food.

Apart from these places, Delhi has a lot and lot to offer to you. The monuments in Delhi like Qutub Minar, Tombs, and happening clubs for parties.

What I wore in Delhi

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – I wore a chikankari organza ice-blue colored kurta. And, matched it with a white sharara and white dupatta. I accessorized it with a chunky oxidized bangle and necklace.

Museum of Illusions – A pretty polka dots pink dress with white accessorizing.

Manasa Yenukoti - Pink Outfits places to visit in delhi

Sarojini Nagar Market – To be active in shopping, I wore a comfortable jeans and tee shirt. And, I tagged along with me a big tote bag.

Champagali– I wore a pink backless dress. It just happened to get a matching flowery background in the pretty lanes of Champagali. And, added blushes and my heart and lock earrings.
